Technological Singularity

Technology is like a force of nature, but born of the mind. It's stoppable only by itself, otherwise it's unstoppable. It's accelerating and purposeful. It's ultimate aim is to become eternal by spreading itself far throughout the galaxy. It's presently driven by people on Earth, but it does not need man to achieve it's ultimate goals. Mankind may give birth to the force, but is not it's master. He can only watch and wait and see how technology will evolve into something which he himself had no real understanding of.
Wikipedia describes it thus, "The technological singularity is the theoretical emergence of superintelligence through technological means. Since it is believed that the capabilities of such intelligence would be difficult for an unaided human mind to comprehend, the technological singularity is often seen as an occurrence, akin to a singularity, beyond which events cannot be predicted, yet many have made educated guesses about what will follow."
The framework for the singularity are well established. Each piece of the puzzle is slowly aligning with it's neighbors. The outline of the image forming may well be described as an approaching event horizon, beyond such point the unstoppableness of technology become absolute. We can only hope that the analogy with black holes ends there.
