Tax Havens/Foundations / Panama Papers
« on: April 05, 2016, 05:08:16 AM »

"An anonymous source has handed 2.6TB worth of records from Mossack Fonseca, one of the world's largest offshore law firms."

As Snowden himself wrote, "Biggest leak in the history of data journalism just went live, and it's about corruption."

The Panama Papers reveal:

* Twelve national leaders are among 143 politicians, their families and close associates from around the world known to have been using offshore tax havens.

* A $2bn trail leads all the way to Vladimir Putin. The Russian president’s best friend – a cellist called Sergei Roldugin - is at the centre of a scheme in which money from Russian state banks is hidden offshore. Some of it ends up in a ski resort where in 2013 Putin’s daughter Katerina got married.

* Among national leaders with offshore wealth are Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan’s prime minister; Ayad Allawi, ex-interim prime minister and former vice-president of Iraq; Petro Poroshenko, president of Ukraine; Alaa Mubarak, son of Egypt’s former president; and the prime minister of Iceland, Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson.

* Six members of the House of Lords, three former Conservative MPs and dozens of donors to UK political parties have had offshore assets. The families of at least eight current and former members of China’s supreme ruling body, the politburo, have been found to have hidden wealth offshore.

* Twenty-three individuals who have had sanctions imposed on them for supporting the regimes in North Korea, Zimbabwe, Russia, Iran and Syria have been clients of Mossack Fonseca. Their companies were harboured by the Seychelles, the British Virgin Islands, Panama and other jurisdictions.

* A key member of Fifa’s powerful ethics committee, which is supposed to be spearheading reform at world football’s scandal-hit governing body, acted as a lawyer for individuals and companies recently charged with bribery and corruption.

Apollo Missions / Moon Music

Apollo astronauts reported hearing music on the far side of the Moon in recently declassified documents. Those astronauts also kept silent for fear of disciplinary action.

It is a common argument that the Moon missions were not faked because it would be impossible to keep such a secret for all these years.

And incompetence of higher order of magnitude..

... "Initially authorities told reporters that the risk of any exposure to others was minimal because Patrick Sawyer was whisked into isolation after arriving at the airport with symptoms of Ebola."

... "But Lagos state health commissioner Jide Idris said Tuesday that the nature of his disease "was not known" the first day, and only after further investigation did they suspect Ebola."

... "They went back to the history and they were like 'Oh, this is Liberia,' and that's why he was put into isolation," he told reporters. "So even in that window period it was possible that some of these [8 health workers] got infected."

... "They are among 14 people who had "serious direct contact" with Sawyer, most of them at the hospital, Idris said. Authorities say they are also following the conditions of 56 other people who had "primary contact" with Sawyer"

.. simply wow!   ::)

This post on GLP says it all..

The incubation period is up to 3 weeks......and ALL the people were "warned" then left to continue their journeys????! LUNACY TOTAL LUNACY...MAKES ME WONDER DO THEY WANT IT TO SPREAD?"

Speaking of incompetence..

"Russian Government Edits Wikipedia To Say Ukrainian Military Shot Down MH17"

"The original post, relating to civil aviation accidents, said that the plane, which was carrying 298 people,
including 10 Britons, was shot down using rockets which were "obtained from the Russian Federation".

This was later edited to say the plane was shot down by the "Ukrainian military." The edit was flagged up
by the Twitter account @RuGovEdits, which has been programmed to post a tweet every time a Wikipedia
edit is made from an IP address known to be linked to government agencies, found using public sources."

Conspiracy Theories / Conspiracy of Coincidence or Incompetence?

Not every conspiracy theory has merit, but almost any major event has conspiracy theory advocates.
Some are pure coincidence, but at other times, incompetence seems almost so overwhelmingly
conspicuous as to leave everyone guessing. It's perhaps timely then to mention Malaysian Flight MH370.

I challenge anyone to watch the following video and not see a conspiracy of incompetence.

The only useful information was coming from Inmarsat scientists evaluating actual handshake data
of the final 7 hours of flight. However, throughout the video the same scientist is questioning the
actual response of Malaysian officials who were searching in the south China sea, despite having military
radar data which showed the plane turn back at the last known waypoint.

Even when the scientists pinpointed a hotspot which matched perfectly all the Inmarsat data the ocean
search was still taking place hundreds of kilometers away. Was it really likely that the blackbox was moving
11 km in one day? Or was it more likely that they were tracking another underwater vehicle?
How is it possible for the search teams to keep ignoring the hotspot provided by Inmarsat experts, right
up to the time the pinger was due to run out of battery life?

This is the point where one starts to think about all the possible causes for a conspiracy of incompetence.

"The Google I/O cardboard VR system (henceforth referred to as Google Cardboard) is better than the Oculus Rift.  Better resolution (1920x1080 vs 1280x800), and more responsive. "The paperboard app is a native app run on the device which with all sensors build-in. While Oculus rift is just a display with certain sensors processed from a PC connected."

..what is most perplexing is that the gap between earning nothing and a basic income is far greater than the gap between earning a basic income and a fortune.

It's the minimal cost barrier.. if G+ offered people the option to donate a few thousand Satoshi (~10c) for +1-ing
exceptional posts it would really open up the mirco-payment market.
Last that i read, G were thinking to add Bitcoin to G-wallet.. so it still might happen.

Haha... we must have read the same school library book. ;0)
