 ???

"The problem is that a server, by definition, doesn’t have to be a dedicated expensive computer. Any PC or Mac can be a server, as can all sorts of computing devices.

Moreover, the net neutrality rules (.pdf)regarding devices are plain and simple: ”Fixed broadband providers may not block lawful content, applications, services, or non-harmful devices.
”"

*facepalm*

Essentially, they don't want people farming out their connections, or starting business on a "non-business" plan.

Hi Dredd,

Personally I'm not surprised but it is a sad turn of events. Time to get busy on a work around for this.

62 posts, Wow :o, thanks for all your input.

I've been away for a week working around the clock to get www.alsprogrammingresource.com updated. There were 238 pages to be copied over, updated, checked and so on.

Did you know I also write for www.beforeitsnews.com? You can view my stories here at http://beforeitsnews.com/contributor/pages/232/368/stories.html

Now it's time update www.tranquilitylane.com which should be a lot easier  ;D

'til next time.

It mainly concerns those getting Google fiber. The general response is something like.. "the mesh intraweb will solve this!".

I'm still comfortable using Google+ for now, though i don't see them making any moves yet to monetize our efforts like with adsense or youtube. I have a small community started, and hope to branch out from there if it grows.

You have been busy! Are you consolidating the hosting?

I've been paying for a cheap vps but only just getting back to using it. I have virtualmin/webmin, but somewhat surprisingly, struggling with server conflicts and unloaded modules. The usual approach would be to wipe and start clean, but it's hard to ditch something that's almost, but not quite working. :P

Ahh well. It's not like we haven't been studying long enough to cope with a few spaghetti-junction config files.  Life of a programmer... (12mb)
